What the hell do I think I'm doing? The show has been broadcast for a few years now on www.kaosradioaustin.org. Technically this is not the first episode. I used to just run The Hour of Slack for 2 hours on Sundays, then I started to incorporate some of my own mixes and sometimes would cut and paste different episodes of The Hour of Slack to make tailor-made episodes. The show then eventually evolved into "What Is It?" which was a weekly show of cut ups, sound collages, and personal mixes created by myself. I borrowed heavily from the "Church of the Subgenius Hour of Slack", Negativland's "Over The Edge" and several other audio sources. Some of these episodes are available on www.archive.org. After over ten years of dabbling with the idea of becoming a member of The Church of the Subgenius, I finally joined.. The show became "Slander Bob's Sunday Slack Time Frop Out!" (which of course is a play on Rev. Suzie The Floozie's show "Bob's Slack Time Fun House"). To make a long story short. I have finally come up with the formula for the show and the show will stay this way forever until I stop or die (whichever comes first). My goal here is to provide the ultimate Subgenius variety show; showcasing all of the talented people who are members of The Church of the Subgenius, as well as other forms of audio entertainment that would fit this type of show.
